General The Municipality of Laško is a founder of a public institution STIK which is together with its founder, the Municipality of Laško, and many cultural associations in the municipality in charge of sustainment and development of culture in the local community, organization of cultural events, preserving of cultural heritage and other tasks belonging to this field. The Municipality of Laško is also a co-founder of a public institution Knjižnica Laško (a library) and a public institution Glasbena šola Radeče (a music school). The municipal budget mainly finances salaries of the employees in STIK. On the basis of state laws and regulations it provides a considerable financial support to the activities of a library and a music school. There is also the seat of the regional department of public fund for cultural activities (Območna izpostava Javnega sklada RS za kulturne dejavnosti, JSKD) which supports activities in the sphere of amateurish culture in municipalities of Laško and Radeče. Območna izpostava javnega sklada RS supports the functioning of associations, accompanies their achievements, organizes training for a better quality of associations and encourages them to attend seminars and events all over Slovenia. JSKD also organizes events on different levels (regional, state) in the municipality. Every year the municipality of Laško issues a call for tenders. By means of it the municipality co-finances activities of cultural associations. This means a financial help which helps the associations in the municipality at their survival and creating. It does not mean financial resources that would help the associations a carefree survival. The Municipality of Laško endeavours to reward cultural associations that are the most active and important for society in the municipality. |
